Our Camp director is Greg Wellens, owner of Adventures Out West and Cheyenne Mountain Alumni. Greg has 10 years of child care experience as a children's Ski Instructor in Aspen Colorado. Greg also has 20 years experience guiding, organizing and creating unique outdoor activities for groups and individuals alike. Greg's love of the outdoors, a knack for handling kids and a desire to be a teacher has lead to the creation of our summer camp. With a successful summer coming, AOW looks forward to an equally exciting winter camp to continue the education of young adventurers.

Focus:

The focus of our camp is outdoor education through experience. All of our activities will include flora, fauna, weather, geology and history lessons. The curiculum will not be strict but it will be abundant. We want the children to look around, see, touch, feel and be part of the environment they are in. Hopefully the children will be able to make better choices in life based on their experiences with AOW.

The highlight of the Camp will be an overnight camp out near South Park followed by a hot air balloon ride. For children choosing to going on the overnight at least 1 parent is required to come along. AOW can assist with gear for this activity but each child is required to bring all necessary equipment on the supply list. All parents are encouraged to join us on the camp out and balloon ride. Parents are welcome to join our teams on all of our activities. Ask Greg for special rate pricing.

Gear List:

Our summer camp is and is not a baby sitting service. We are here to teach the children and expect them to learn. Part of the learning is being prepared for each day. This is the expected gear list for the children. The children are to have this equipment with them every week in a back pack that fits them. They will be carrying this gear with them on all activities. In addition to this gear list, children should have the items listed on the supply list for each activity.
